Hi! I’m Hannah. My high school sweet heart-turned-husband, Max, and I have bounced around a few Chicago neighborhoods the last ten years, but have made Lakview home. Our dog, Sally, is a gorgeous golden retriever – an affirmation we tell her daily. Besides writing, I’m passionate about my little family, books, film, education, and my career. I am a laughable tennis player and my French language skills are mediocre at best; I refuse to give up hope in either arena.
I’ve been a writer all my life – mainly chronic journaling and many torn-up short stories. It is the beginning of 2019 and the ominous thirty is approaching with abandon. It felt like a now-or-never moment to start honing my writing. So I’m making myself write to an audience (do I have one? Are you there?).
What you’ll find is a work in progress. While I love the traditional blog that has a clear lifestyle message and lots of sponsored links, you’re unlikely to find that here. For starters, I named my blog after a long-dead corrupt politician. When I try to google the site and come across a slew of historical documents, I laugh and realize what an awful name I picked. In other words, I’ve set the bar low.
Anyway, since I have you, I hope to showcase a bit more of the imperfection of life. I’m certainly not going to be able to post stylized photos, fabulous outfits, or glamorous vacations. That’s exhausting and expensive. If you’re my target audience, you must be tired of that deluge of perfection. So take a break from all that and watch me foolishly doodle around. Thanks for reading!
